Who is Dev

I was born in Botswana and did my growing up right here in Ward 11. These are the streets where I chalked the sidewalks, played soccer, ran around playing cops and robbers.

I studied political science at McMaster and I am now pursuing a master's in public administration in the UK. I have also worked inside government as a political staffer, which showed me the ceiling on what you can do for people when you answer to someone else.

I am running because Ward 11 is home and my neighbours are family, not constituents. I want the full power to show up for this community the way it deserves.

Priority 01

Decrease Property Tax Hikes & Increase Affordability

You're paying more than ever, and Ward 11 has less to show for it. Property tax isn't the city's only income — it's just the only one anyone explains. Dev will make every other dollar work harder before the city reaches for yours.

Safer Streets

Residential streets get used as high-speed cut-throughs and auto theft is still roughly double pre-pandemic levels. School zones first, traffic calming that works, better lighting on the darkest streets — and the safety cameras Brampton already has.

Youth Jobs and Opportunity

Young people leave the ward to start careers somewhere else, while the city signs major contracts every year that could be training them here. The Mississauga Works Plan turns the city's own purchasing power into local jobs.

Fair Investment for Every Neighbourhood

Nobody can see where the ward's maintenance money actually goes. Dev's answer is a public scoring system: every park and road graded on condition, worst fixed first, published every year.
